Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau

The Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau promotes Hampton as a travel destination to convention and meeting groups, group tour travelers and individual visitors. Partially bordered by the Hampton Roads harbor and Chesapeake Bay, Hampton is a charming waterfront destination. It was here that Captain John Smith stopped in 1607 before sailing north to Jamestown and where the original Mercury astronauts trained at Hampton's NASA Langley Research Center in 1959 before launching America into the Space Age. Today, the site of America's continuous English-speaking settlement continues to attract a variety of coastal travelers.
