Union Street Theatre
Part of the historic Masonic Temple has been renovated to host a black box theatre. The Union Street Theatre was founded on the idea that arts can unite our community and inspire our youth. We aspire to broaden the scope of our audience by introducing new works, bringing non-traditional elements to classic plays and musicals, and by providing a diverse scope of creative offerings. Our second Summer Main Stage season consisted of Grease, Once on Ths Island, Jr., Songs for a New World, and From These Pages: A Celebration of the Written Word. We plan to announce our 2012-2013 season in the coming weeks (consisting of 4 Main Stage plays & musicals and 4 offerings in our childrens theatre season). We were honored to receive an award from the Danville Historical Society for "Dedicated Commitment & Service to the Cause of Historic and Cultural Preservation and Development" in our first season, and that commitment and service will always be at the heart of our mission.
