Bower Center for the Arts
The Bower Center for the Arts, under the umbrella of the Wharton Memorial Foundation, is a non-profit art center nestled in the heart of Bedford, Virginia at the corner of Bridge Street and Bedford Ave. The building itself has a rich history. The original structure was built in 1880 and the performance hall is housed in the old sanctuary. The natural acoustics create a wonderful setting for performing arts such as the Gospel Fest we have on March 6th. We are co-sponsoring with the Bedford Welcome Center a national, juried show, More Than A Mountain to coordinate with the 75th anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway. the opening reception will be May 30. Stop in to see our current art show, Inspired by Africa or watch artists as they work,or sign up for Art or Music Classes. Our state of the art music lab rivals that of most colleges.
