The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail - Middle Loop

The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail - Middle Loop: Fast Track to Music and the Arts.

Visit Bristol VA/TN, a city full of history including railroads, car racing and music.  Designated the “Birthplace of Country Music” by Congress in 1998, Bristol is the location of the 1927 Victor recording sessions which produced stars such as the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers.  In Abingdon, visit Barter Theatre, the State Theatre of Virginia.  There you can see performances of classics, dramas, comedies and contemporary plays on two stages.  Travel to Hiltons, VA and experience the First Family of Music’s Carter Family Fold, and the A.P. Carter Museum and Birthplace.  Live music is played here every Saturday night, acoustic only, in the tradition of the original Carter Family.
