The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail - Eastern Loop: Folklife Treasures and Mountain Tunes.

Begin your tour at the Blue Ridge Institute at Ferrum College, promoting a special understanding of regional folklife through the music and arts of the Blue Ridge. Visit Floyd, home of traditional bluegrass, old time music and dancing at the Floyd Country Store weekly at the Friday Night Jamboree.  Plan your trip to visit one of the many festivals in Patrick County or visit Meadows of Dan for fudge and music.  Travel to Galax where a downtown visit showcases the many famous musicians of the region at the Rex Theater every Friday Night and at the Galax Old Fiddler’s Convention held each August. Visit the Blue Ridge Music Center where the National Park Service has created a facility to preserve traditional music of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
