Let's Cook! A Culinary and Tea Tour

Day One

Begin your cooking tour at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Of special interest on the tour will be the two kitchen exhibits, each of a different era in the Shenandoah Valley. Plan ahead to have the museum Master Gardener present a talk about using garden herbs. Tour the beautiful 6 acres of gardens and be sure to visit the gift shop for the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley cookbook.

Enjoy lunch at the Museum's popular Museum Café by Bonnie Blue, where salads, quiches, pulled pork, southern style side dishes, pastries and more are made fresh-from-scratch daily.

After lunch, visit the Patsy Cline Historic House to learn about the iconic singer's rise to fame. See the kitchen where Patsy and her mother Hilda fixed family meals. Here you will have an opportunity to purchase a cookbook that features Patsy's favorite foods!

Venture to Valerie Hill Vineyard and Winery for scenic views, music, a relaxing atmosphere, and outstanding wines.

Return to your hotel to relax before heading out to dine on your own in Old Town Winchester. Mix a little history into your tour with a guided walking tour after dinner.

Day Two

Enjoy shopping on your own at Creekside Station, a premier shopping destination with Main Street friendliness and city sophistication.

Your next stop is a highlight of your visit - the Coach and Horses Tea Room. With the ambiance of a historic 1790 home, quality foods are accompanied by great service and a full range of teas, scones with clotted cream, and preserves.
