High Bridge Trail State Park (1 photo)
High Bridge Trail State Park is a 34-mile multi-use trail dedicated to hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Its centerpiece is the majestic High Bridge, which spans nearly ½ mile and is 160 feet above the Appomattox River. The bridge was built in 1853 as part of the South Side Railroad and played a significant role during Lee's retreat in the final days of the American Civil War. The Town of Farmville's public parking adjacent to the trail is a great place to park and have access to the trail. (High Bridge will be open to the public in the Spring of 2012)

Over the years, this passenger station has served the citizens of Farmville. In 1979, a Pepsi-Cola commercial was filmed there where it captured the essence of heartland America. The Farmville Historic Train Station, originally built in 1903, has been transformed into a splendid place to hold small weddings, receptions, family get-togethers and holiday gatherings.

The Farmville Area Farmer's Market is located in a renovated tobacco warehouse in Farmville's historic district. The market offers a nice variety of all homegrown and homemade items. Organic and pesticide free items can be found as well.
