Fall Frenzy Tour
Central Virginia is beautiful anytime of year, but never more than in Autumn. Bring your group to enjoy the colorful sites of the heart of Virginia in the Fall. Begin your day with a stop at Point of Honor, high on a dramatic bluff overlooking downtown Lynchburg. Built in 1815 this Federal Style Mansion is gorgeous in the fall. Just on the next hill is Old City Cemetery with 5 museums on the grounds. The unique collection of trees and shrubs from around the world provide a striking backdrop to the unparalled history of the site. Head west to nearby Bedford to see the dramatic National D-Day Memorial, breathtaking at any time of year, but truly spectacular in the Fall. From Bedford follow Rt 43 for a stop at the majestic Peaks of Otter rising high above the Blue Ridge Parkway. Enjoy lunch at the Peaks of Otter Lodge and Restaurant, or plan a box lunch by the lake (note: you may have to share your lunch with a deer or two!) Head north for a glorious glimpse of Fall colors in Virginia as you drive one of the most scenic sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Follow Rt 130 back into Amherst County. Next a stop at Rebec Vineyards. Set amoung beautiful rolling foothills, Rebec offers tours and wine & jelly tastings in a true country setting. Return to Lynchburg to top off your day with dinner in one of our many fine downtown restaurants along the banks of the scenic James River.
