Culinary & Winery Tour

Day One:

It's only natural that Williamsburg's rich historical significance be matched with an even richer selection of culinary opportunities. Begin your mouthwatering getaway in the Historic Area of Colonial Williamsburg.

For Virginia's finest homegrown products, shop The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg and the Genuine Smithfield Ham Shoppe, located right across the street. Stroll the heart of the Historic Area at Merchant's Square. This beautiful shopping destination boasts an amazing variety of food items.

Experience the Williamsburg Winery, set in the backdrop of a quaint European-inspired village. The Williamsburg Winery is Virginia's largest, producing more than 65,000 cases annually. Enjoy a reserve wine tasting where you will sample and compare a variety of locally produced wines as well as selected vintages from the winery's own special collection.

Dine in style with the spirits of our forefathers in Williamsburg at a colonial tavern like Christiana Campbell's Tavern – a spot once frequented by George Washington himself! Amidst strolling balladeers and musicians, you will enjoy a fine meal of fresh coastal seafood and good cheer. The menu features tasty traditional fare, including pye of oyster and corn, sherried shrimp with scallops and lobster, spoonbread and sweet potato muffins.

Day Two:

Enjoy a day at Yorktown, especially during Market Days at the River. Local farmers, watermen, bakers and artisans come together to feature their products at this seasonal event. Walk along the beautiful Riverwalk Landing while sampling a wide selection of culinary goodies and gifts. Vendors' items include delicious spices, cookies, cheesecakes, peanuts, vegetables, sauces and flowers. Have lunch on the shore of the York River. This restaurant features three different dining rooms, serving three different food groupings – seafood, meat and poultry.
