City of Waynesboro, Art, History and Vineyard

Day One Morning  View the galleries at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center.  Local and regional artists are featured affording visitors the opportunity to experience the artistic talents of those living in the Central Shenandoah Valley. www.svacart.com.   Visit Waynesboro’s own Heritage Museum and discover Waynesboro’s history from its infancy through the City’s rise to prominence during the industrialization of America. The Waynesboro Heritage Museum is located in downtown at the corner of Main Street & Wayne Avenue. The museum has a wonderful collection of pictures, photographs, antiques, collectibles, a world-class doll collection and a Valley Native American artifacts collection. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00am until 5:00pm, or for large group tours by appointment.  Day One Afternoon  Tour and taste at the Barren Ridge Vineyards, www.barrenridgevineyards.com.  Arrangements for a catered or boxed lunch can be made with the owners at Barren Ridge.  Day Two Morning  Visit the P. Buckley Moss Museum and view the permanent collection of Pat’s work offering a retrospective tour of her art and life.  The museum collection also includes religious art, the Virginia Collection, and other modernistic styles not commonly associated with Pat’s art.  Group tours are available by reservation (please call in advance for scheduling) and the museum offers a retail shop.  Arrangements are available for a catered box lunch for enjoyment for the road or choose one of Waynesboro’s restaurants in then vicinity of the museum.
