A Sea to the Stars Experience in Hampton
Sea to the Stars Package--Group Tour Itinerary
Cast off for a nautical discovery aboard Hampton’s longest-running harbor cruise, the Miss Hampton II. This historic port of Hampton Roads comes alive with a unique tour that includes a visit to Fort Wool, an island fortress in the middle of the Hampton Roads harbor and an in-depth review of the mighty warships at the world’s largest naval installation, Naval Base Norfolk. You'll set sail at 10:00 a.m. for a three-hour cruise. Enjoy a box lunch or sandwich from the boat’s galley (Not Included). Return to the Hampton Docks and visit the Hampton Maritime Center. Take a spin on the Hampton Carousel. Built in 1920 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, this historic attraction was originally located at Hampton's Buckroe Beach on the Chesapeake Bay. Climb aboard one of the 48 horses and two chariots that were painted by German, Indian and Russian immigrant artisans. Capture this moment on film as this makes a great photo stop. Just steps away you’ll visit the Virginia Air & Space Center, the visitor center for NASA Langley Research Center and Langley Air Force Base. Experience the Adventures in Flight and Space Quest galleries and more than 100 “hand-on” exhibits that tell the story of air and space exploration. See the Apollo 12 Command Module, a Mars meteorite and a three-billion year-old moon rock! View a film in 3-D at the Riverside IMAX Theater at the Air & Space Center. This experience offers you an unparalleled sense of realism and motion as images of awesome power are projected onto a five-story screen, enhanced by 16,000 watts of digital sound. Browse quaint shops and art galleries on the tree lined streets or enjoy dinner at one of Hampton’s waterfront eateries before you depart for home.
