Day One
Start your day at the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center and explore the fields, fortifications, and historic buildings where American independence was won.  Drive the key spots on the battlefield to see where events of the siege and surrender took place.  Next stop, the Moore House where negotiations led to the British surrender at Yorktown on October 19, 1781.  Stroll down Main Street and visit the Yorktown Victory Monument Commissioned by the Continental Congress in 1781 to commemorate the great victory at Yorktown.  Stop by York Hall and the Yorktown Historical Museum.   Complete your day at Riverwalk Landing and browse the many distinctive and unique shops of the village of Yorktown.

Day Two:
Visit The Yorktown Victory Center where you will learn America’s struggle for independence from the beginnings of colonial unrest to the formation of the new nation.   Outdoors, historical interpreters engage visitors in everyday life during the Revolutionary era.   Muster with troops in a Continental Army encampment to experience a soldier’s life and, on a re-created 1780s farm; help with chores such as weeding the garden and processing flax.  Enjoy lunch at one of our many restaurants then take a walk on the beach or sit on a bench and take in the view of the beautiful York River.  Complete your day with a sail aboard the Schooner Alliance.  Step back into history aboard this 105 foot gaff-rigged schooner.
