MacArthur Inn

The  MacArthur Inn has been beautifully restored to its former grandeur.   Named by President Roosevelt for General MacArthur.   Nearby Attractions:  * Sentinal Mountain and Snowflake are where the Confederates stationed sentinals watching federal troop movements. A large cave in the mountain was mined for salt peter to make powder.  * The Narrows Duck Pond is the site of  Kingrey Grist Mill which ground the county's grain. Still present is the dam that supplied the water power for the grist wheel. * The New River for canoeing, tubing, kayaking, snorkling, bass and muskie fishing. * 25 mins to Virginia Tech * 40 mins to WinterPlace * Wolf Creek and Dry Branch for trout fishing * Horse and hiking trails  * Scenic motorcycle routes   * Carriage rides upon request in advance, weather permitting
