Big Meadows Lodge in Shenandoah National Park
Big Meadows Lodge offers accommodations ranging from rooms in the main lodge, to fully furnished rustic cabins, to cozy suites and comfortable rooms offering views of the majestic mountains. The original lodge was built in 1939 with stones cut from the Massanutten Mountain and the entire interior structure of the lodge, including the paneling, is made from native chestnut trees, which today are virtually extinct. The lodge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Full service dining, family activities, nightly entertainment and conducted Park Ranger programs offered. Great lodging packages and events are featured throughout the season. Big Meadows is open May 15 through noon, November 3, 2013.
