SouthEast Expeditions at Onancock Wharf

Onancock, a 1680 Colonial port on the bayside of Virginia's Eastern Shore, is the location of SouthEast Expeditions at the Wharf. Our colorful shop inside the historic Steamboat Ticket Office offers tours, rentals of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and bikes.

Just steps outside, we launch our signature Historic Onancock Creek Tour on waters once plied by Native Americans, Schooners, steamboats, and now pleasure boaters. Four miles off the Chesapeake Bay, Onancock is a naturally sheltered "hurricane hole," so we can kayak no matter what's going on out on the Bay!

Adjacent is historic Hopkins Bros Store housing Mallards at the Wharf restaurant where you can refresh with a meal or drink after your tour. Ask us about their special Paddler's Bag Lunches to take on your kayak trip!

We also offer overnight camping trips and day trips to: Schooner Bay, Saxis, Seaside, Quinby (Machipongo River), and the one-of-a-kind Hang Gliding Kayak Winery Tour package! We also offer private instruction and classes.

Come meet SouthEast guides and authors Bill & Mary Burnham, and check out their books including "Knack Kayaking for Everyone."

Fees are charged for rentals and tours.
