Occoneechee State Park

Occoneechee State Park is along the 50,000-acre Buggs Island Lake. Explore the park's 800 miles of wooded, cove-studded shoreline. Occoneechee is ideal for those who enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, horseback riding and boating. There are 89 campsites, 11 cabins, picnic areas, an amphitheater, wildlife areas, hiking trails and boat launches. Pontoon and fishing boats may be rented. Visit Occoneechee's visitor center and Native American Museum to learn about the area's Native Americans.
