Mountain Biking at Mountain Lake
Mountain Lake’s 4,000-foot elevation makes for cool summer cycling and a scenic spring or fall experience. Its 20 miles of trails--from single track for experienced riders to smooth trails for beginners and children--are open to the public year-round.
Trail maps are available at the Mountain Lake Conservancy office next to Mountain Lake Hotel. These USGS topo color maps have all trails precisely GPS-traced and include difficulty and length.
Hardtail bike rentals are free for hotel guests, full suspension rentals are $20 half day and $35 full day. For non-hotel guests, hardtails are $20 for half day, $35 full day, full suspension $40 half day, $70 full day.
From May to October, the Mountain Lake Conservancy offers Tuesday evening women’s mountain bike rides.
