Gathright Wildlife Management Area

Located in Bath County and divided by Lake Moomaw, the two tracts of the Gathright Wildlife Management Area contains 13,428 acres, encompassing three major mountains,  the Allegheny, Bolar, and Coles Mountains. Elevations range from 1,400 to 3,600 feet. Numerous streams flow eastward from the steep side of Allegheny Mountain and have created a series of secondary ridges and hollows that terminate at Mill Creek.

The US Forest Service manages several campgrounds nearby.  There is also a shooting range in the WMA for sighting in rifles.

Excellent fishing is also available in the WMA on the shores of Lake Moomaw.
