Explore Arlington and the Nation’s Capital by Bike

Arlington is definitely known for its incredible history, eclectic  urban villages, and arts and culture, but did you know that one of the  best ways to experience it all is on two wheels? Cooler temperatures provide the perfect atmosphere  for a leisurely bike ride as a way to explore, and Arlington features 36  miles of off-street, multi-use trails for bicycling, walking and  jogging. Portions of these trails pass through beautiful natural areas  of local and national parks, connect to regional bike trails, and offer  stunning views of the Potomac River, Georgetown, National Mall and more.

What's more, Arlington has 49 miles of marked, on-street bicycle  routes, connecting the off-street trails with each other and with  Arlington's lively neighborhoods. For more information on how easy it is  to bike around Arlington, visit www.bikearlington.com.

And you don't even need to bring your own bike! The Capital Bikeshare program offers nearly 1,700 bikes for short term rental all over  Washington, D.C. and Arlington – there are more than 175 Bikeshare  stations, so you can be sure there's one that's never more than a few  blocks away. Just join (for a day trip or other options), pick out a  bike, and pedal away! You simply return the bike at a Bikeshare stop  wherever your final destination may be.  For more information visit www.capitalbikeshare.com.
