Yorktown Victory Center
200 Water Street/Route 1020 in Yorktown
Yorktown, VA 23690 (757) 253-4838
The Yorktown Victory Center, a museum of the American Revolution, chronicles America’s struggle for independence, from the beginnings of unrest to the formation of the new nation.
An American Revolution timeline offers a visual journey from the 13 British colonies in the 1750s to westward expansion of the new United States in the 1790s. Outdoors, historical intepreters engage visitors in everyday life of the Revolution in re-creations of a Continental Army encampment and Revolution-era farm.
Special programs include "Fashion in Colonial Virginia" theme month in June, "Liberty Celebration" July 4-5, and "Tools of the Trade" theme month in August.
The Yorktown Victory Center continues to welcome visitors daily as it transforms over the next few years into the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, to open late 2016.
Administered by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and supported by Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, Inc., for private fund development.
