Virginia Air & Space Center

The visitor center for NASA Langley Research Center and Langley Air  Force Base. This world-class facility features the Adventures in Flight  and Space Quest galleries and more than 100 "hands-on" exhibits that  tell the story of air and space exploration. See the Apollo 12 Command  Module, a Mars meteorite and a three-billion year-old moon rock! Make a  crater, travel to Mars and fly an airplane. Visit the technologically  advanced 3D IMAX® Theater and see a film on a five-story screen with  16,000 watts of digital-sound.

  • Blast Off! exhibit opening  July 1, 2014    Let your imagination soar when you pretend, play and explore space with  this new hands-on exhibit.  Build a rocket, learn about space food and  sleep on a wall! Suit up in a spacesuit, explore the moon's surface, and  learn about gravity as you manipulate the lunar rover.
  • Living in Space exhibit  opening July 1, 2014    Become an International Space Station (ISS) crewmember for a day and  see what it is like to Live, Work and Play in space with this hands-on  exhibit. Plan a day in space, perform a simulated science experiment,  try out daily activities like mealtime or playtime, and dock with a  spacecraft.
