Muscarelle Museum of Art

The Muscarelle Museum of Art is located on the campus of The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. The origins of the collection can be traced to 1732, when the third Earl of Burlington gave The College of William & Mary a portrait of the physicist Robert Boyle. 

Special exhibitions and a revolving permanent collection of over 5,000 works; the collection is encyclopedic in nature and included English and American portraits of the 17th to 19th centuries; European and American prints, drawings and paintings from the 14th to 21st centuries (Medieval to Post-Modern); Japanese prints; photography; African art and Asian ceramics.
