Old Town Manassas

Passing the beautiful homes along Grant Avenue, you'll want to begin your tour of Manassas' historic district at the Visitors Center.  Once an early city hall, the center features brochures, area maps and displays that provide an excellent jumping-off point for your exploration of this attractive and historic community.  The old and new, the traditional and the extraordinary, all are found amidst the quaint shops, museums and galleries of this historic Old Town.  Stroll down the narrow streets of Old Town and enjoy the visual charm of its turn-of-the-century architecture.  Many of the buildings from this bygone era are still standing.  Manassas served as a vital railroad junction during the Civil War and the railroad was crucial to the city's development and growth.
