Historic Centertown Bedford
Bedford is one of the most charming and unique small towns in Virginia. Visit the Bedford City/County Museum at 201 East Main Street for a variety of exhibits on local history. The Wharton House at 315 North Bridge Street serves as the home of the Bedford Historical Society and features beautiful 19th Century Gardens. Avenel, an early 19th Century Greek Revival house, is only a few blocks away at 413 Avenel Avenue, was once visited by Robert E. Lee. A short drive from Centertown takes you to the National D-Day Memorial on Overlord Circle.
