Thomas Day Furniture
Thomas Day (b. 1801 - d. 1861) was a free black cabinet and furniture maker whose shop was in Milton, N.C., a short distance from Danville, VA. The story of his business success in the antebellum South demonstrates his accomplishment as an artisan. He was famous for sturdy architectural interiors and furniture of unique design.
