Get ready to roar with the Suffolk Division of Tourism’s 12th Annual Suffolk Swamp Roar Motorcycle Rally on Sunday, October 13, in conjunction with the Suffolk Peanut Fest. The 80-mile ride around the perimeter of the Great Dismal Swamp departs from the Suffolk Executive Airport at 10:30 a.m., with staging of bikes beginning at 9:00 a.m. The participation fee is $20 per person and includes an event tee shirt and post-ride reception. Swamp Roar was created to increase awareness of the Great Dismal’s fragile eco-system and to enhance nature-based tourism and interpretive programs for one of North America’s few remaining wildernesses.
