Love Birds - Valentines Day Birding Class
Experience the beauty of the islands of the eastern shore while birding in this unique location. We will go birding at several hot spots on the Eastern Shore. Not only will we explore the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge's restricted back country on Assateague Island. We will also visit Wallops Island to view the shore birds of a pristine beach restricted to the public or take a boat ride through marsh creeks to observe waterfowl. Spring is a good time to see large numbers of migrating shore birds, warblers, and other birds that invade the area. During summer, a variety of species are visible along the National Seashore. In the fall, waterfowl arrive in massive numbers to Assateague Island, a vital link in the life cycle of migrating waterfowl in the Atlantic Flyway. No matter the seasons birding on the eastern shore is a treat.
