Ichthyology- The study of Fins- Marine Biology Summer Camp Ages 16-18 - Marine Science Consortium
If fishes fascinate you, then this is the program for you! Participants will spend an entire week studying fish and attempting to answer all your “How DO they do that?” questions about fishes. Seines will be used to collect fish from various habitats, while an otter trawl will be used aboard the research vessels. Local fishes will then be used to illustrate the morphological adaptations, anatomy, physiology, and systematics of this major vertebrate group. Field collections will also provide the opportunity to observe the relationships of these animals to their biotic and physical environment. Ages 16-18
