Fall Color and Homecoming Carriage Rides
Fall color enthusiasts who want to view a spectacular showing of colorful leaves in hues of reds, yellows, oranges, while enjoying over three miles of woodland trails, can plan their October, 2013, visit to the EJC Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at James Madison University. For a different way to enjoy Fall Color, or if walking the arboretum trails is too exerting, take a fall color carriage ride to enjoy the colorful tree canopy by carriage instead! You can reserve a horse drawn carriage ride on October 26th. Reserve early, rides often sell out! Phone the arboretum office Monday through Friday for your reserved ride. Fall color lovers will get to enjoy the rich spectrum of color from both common and rare Virginia native trees abundant at the arboretum, a pleasure punctuated with rare species like the Betula uber, Round leaf Birch.
