Focus presents a special evening of heartfelt original songs and poignant stories with musican/ humorist Don White. Boston native White is known for taking his audiences from howling laughter to tears, sometimes in the course of one song. His between-song patter is right up there with the storytelling of Bill Cosby or Garrison Keillor, perhaps because his subjects usually involve the joys, annoyances, embarrassments and sorrows of family life. White honed his the craft doing up to nine shows a week at Catch a Rising Star. Today, he also frequently performs with Christine Lavin, another singing comedian who is well-known to Washington-area audiences.
