Appalachian Mountains and Caving Camp with the Virginia Living Museum

Along with two Museum biologists, our middle school explorers will get to know the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains from above and below. We’ll hike parts of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the world-famous Appalachian Trail looking for and learning about the wildlife that lives there. We’ll discover the secrets of cold mountain streams and waterfalls. We’ll head underground to discover what lurks beneath the mountains and find out what makes cave critters so special. We’ll bunk down in tents and enjoy our meals by the campfire. If you like adventure and aren’t afraid of the dark, you’ll love this trip! The professional services of two Museum biologists, food, transportation, camping and scientific equipment are provided. For students who have completed grades 6 and 7.
