"A Colonial Christmas" at Jamestown Settlement
At Jamestown Settlement, a museum 17th-century Virginia, enjoy interpretive programs that compare and contrast English holiday traditions. Programs in the outdoor living-history areas allow visitors to learn about the English colonists' first Christmas at sea in 1606, Indian hospitality shown to Capt. John Smith's trading party during a winter storm, and about the Lord of Misrule, "Grand captain of all mischief."
