Hiram Haines Coffee and Ale House
Established in 1829, Hiram Haines Coffee and Ale house, is the site of Edgar Allan Poe's 1836 honeymoon. Re-opened in 2010, our atmosphere reflects the ambiance and charm characteristic of Poe's time. Hiram Haines was the editor of the local newspaper and a friend of Poe, who visited often. We are open from 11 am to 11 PM every Saturday. 4 PM until 9, 10, or 11 PM Wed—Friday. We have great food, and frequently live entertainment, including Celtic Bands.
