Warren Heritage Society, Inc.

First organized in 1971 as a local history project, the Society's mission is "to create and enhance an awareness of Warren County's heritage through preservation and education." One of the Society's first projects was the Festival of Leaves (now in its 42nd year), which was created to celebrate the fall foliage of the Shenandoah Valley. The first major acquisition by the Society was the Ivy Lodge on Chester Street which houses the administrative offices as well as the Ivy Lodge Museum and Gift Shop. The society is almost totally dependent on income derived from dues, private contributions, and fund raising activities to finance its capital needs as well as its programs and activities. The Society also consists of an archives and historic homes Belle Boyd Cottage and Balthis House.
